So DS is still BF and I have had two periods in the last 3 months. 3 months ago being when I got my first PP period. He does not STTN and also wakes around 5 or 6 am, nurses, then goes back to sleep until 7 or so. This can vary a lot throughout the week.
With that back story, what I really wanted to say is that I want to get a handle on whether I am ovulating or not because we are TTGP. I look at changes in CM and do OPK's but those don't tell me whether I've ovulated for sure, so I was thinking about charting BBT. But after reading about that, it sounds like you have to be really accurate with when you take your morning temp and you need at least 3 consecutive hours of sleep prior to temping. Since I wake up at all different times with DS, do you think this means that charting wouldn't be very reliable for me?
Re: Would you chart?
To chart you need 3 solid hours of sleep and to wake up within 1 hour each day (30 minutes up or down from your normal time).
Can you get 3 solid hours typically from 2-5am? If so you could have your set wake time as 5am or even 5:30. You could always try and see how it goes. If it doesn't work out, I'd at least do opks + cm. GL!
That's really interesting, I had a similar question. So in the end, as long as I stick to the same time every morning, it's not THAT important, that I actually slept for at least 3 hours? Because my son is ALWAYS up by 6:30, I just might not have slept much by then.
Thank you, this is helpful. I may just go ahead and try it.
He's very unpredictable, so I can't say for sure if I'd get 3 solid hours at any point in time during the night. Sigh...maybe I am too tired to make a baby
