We have the nuby cups with no straws and DD does fine drinking from them but she can't figure out how to lift and tilt and it makes her SO mad. I'm wondering if she might like a straw better.
He never really figured out the sippy cup thing. I had heard that some babies just do better with straw cups, but I never really believed it. Straws just seemed more advanced than a sippy, you know? Anyway, he picked up on the straws almost right away. Now, he'll even drink breastmilk in them, which is nice, and he'll hold them himself. He also now will drink from a regular straw, which is a handy skill to have for restaurants and things.
The only thing I don't like about these cups is that they're kind of tall. So, he can't rest them on his high chair and drink out of them - he can't reach up that high. I'm looking for some shorter ones.
That's helpful. The pedi said we should start trying BM in a cup in the next month or so and I'm worried about wasting the milk so I want to find a cup that she can actually use by herself.
Fwiw, DD rejected bottles around 3m and could never get the traditional sippies down. She did the best with the straws since there is no lifting involved. Now she can drink from either, but prefers the straws.

I've thought about these since they are shorter but they get mixed reviews.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000Y2GY40/ref=s9_simh_gw_p75_d0_g75_i1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=079SD3QWP0P7MR3Z5AR2&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470938631&pf_rd_i=507846
Our precious girl, born at 27 weeks.
DD uses the Playtex ones for water since they always seem to leak (bubble up) a little bit.
However, we use this one for milk: https://www.amazon.com/Thermos-Phases-Stainless-Bottle-Yellow/dp/B00318CO6G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1324357863&sr=8-1 and it's awesome! DD isn't a big milk drinker, so if I bring some with me when we go out, I always worry that it's going to go bad. This thing is awesome - it doesn't leak and keeps drinks cold for HOURS.
