Re: AF coming back
Everyone is different. My sister got her period back while EBF'ing at 3 months post partum. I EBF'd DD1 until she was 16 months old and my period didn't return until she was 11 months old. You may see a dip in your supply leading up to or during your period, but it usually rebounds after a few days.
There's no way to know if you'll start ovulating and getting your period again soon or if it won't start up again until you've completely stopped breastfeeding. If you do start getting your period again while bf'ing, just make sure to stay hydrated, eat plenty of calories to maintain your supply and keep nursing, nursing, nursing. Oatmeal is also a natural supply booster for some women, so if you notice a dip in your supply, you could try eating oatmeal or oatmeal cookies. There are even recipes you can find online for "lactation cookies" that are supposed to help with your supply.
DD1: allergic to eggs & dairy
c/p 4/1/11
DD2: milk and soy protein intolerant, allergic to eggs, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, bananas
