one side nursing question

for those that nurse only one side at a time: do you switch sides every time or put LO on the fullest side?  DS only nurses one side and for a while I just put him to which ever side was firmer thinking he must of nursed on the other  without thinking then I realized some times I do rightie 2 times in a row...do you think I should really try and switch sides every time or my "nurse which ever side is fullest" theory is ok? TIA

I did one sided for a while and tried to be consistent with switching to keep the supply even, but it really doesn't matter- the only down side to nursing one side repeatedly is that you may end up with a lop sided supply, but I would think it shouldn't create and over or under supply issue.

ITA. I try to alternate too, but sometimes forget which we were on. At night sometimes I will purposely do one side twice if he feeds at shorter intervals so I don't have to roll over and he gets more hind milk.

If I am unsure I'll go with the fullest side, but try to alternate each time so I am not lopsided and the supply isn't more on one side. My trick is to wear and elastic on my wrist and switch it every time so I know what side to feed on next. I've been meaning to get a nice bracelet but am still rocking the elastics!
