We're having a bit of a puree issue.
DS hates them now.
Everytime I give him a bite, he gives me a good, wet raspberry...
I thought it would just be a phase but after two weeks, it doesn't look like it's going to be over anytime soon.
He is eating finger foods now such as cheerios, toast, pasta, steamed veggies, egg yolks. All of which he loves.
So I'm wondering if I can incorporate his purees into some table foods or finger foods?
I have been spreading it on whole wheat toast & thinking about putting it with whole wheat rice.
Anybody have any other suggestions?
TIA!
Re: What else can we do with purees?
I did carrots pureed with chicken, pastina & chicken broth. It was actually super yummy and the consistency was perfect.
I will also do regular oatmeal with a puree mixed in but its still thick and he loves to pick it up with his hands ( its soooo messy) but he seems to looove it.
little chunks of cooked apples and mangos, pears etc although sometimes they are so wet and smushy they slip through his fingers, but it keeps him busy!
I use fruit puree like jam on toast.
Otherwise, you can always donate it.
(I'm not reading replies, so sorry if these are dups)
you could use some in muffins to replace some of the oil content. pancakes. use them on bread. you can also make teethers with them, there is a recipe online where you take a piece of wheat bread and microwave it with the crust off then spread apple sauce and roll it and as it cools it becomes hard and makes a tasty teether.
baby cookies you can add it too. check out the wholesomebaby.com site.
My LO is bored with purees now, so I've been taking some of the puree and mixing it in with some Quinoa. He loves it! I think it's the texture thing.
Good luck!
