I'd prefer not to. Our other girls have nice long full names, and it's nice to have a full name for when she's an adult if she thinks Allie is too young.

My best friend named her daughter Ally. Just plain Ally. She was sure she was having a boy, so she agreed to let her husband choose the girl name and she would choose the boy name.

She regrets it now and wishes she had at least named her Alexandra with the nn Ally.

You can use Allie as a nn for any name with the "al" sound somewhere in it.
