I noticed with my daughter that a pattern has been emerging before bedtime. (or nap time). Right before bed, she gets a bottle and she is usually drowsy when she goes in the crib. However, as SOON as she hits the mattress she becomes wide awake. Now, she never cries-or really fusses at naptime/bedtime, so CIO isn't in our agenda. However, she will constantly just play and keep herself awake. So usually after about 5 minutes of herself becoming more awake, I end up picking her up and rocking her for less than a minute. I then put her back down to sleep (even though she is wide awake) and she just passes out.
I really think she needs another hug or cuddle before she settles down. Anyone else do that?
Re: extra hug before bed?
I just realized this--now I need to let my husband know. He can never seem to get her to bed--and I am wondering if this is it
I literally put her down. Wait five minutes. Pick her up and cuddle her for a minute and put her down again. Then she falls asleep
DS2 hates to be put down for bed---nothing helps--but I know with DS1 he really does need an extra hug/snuggle before bed. Then he'll pass out. So it totally could be.
