Okay, I've read a LOT of posts about yeast problems lately. I thought it was one of those things that may or may not show up so I figured I'd worry about it when/if it happened.
But I think it's more common than that.
Can someone give me the overall picture? What are the signs/symptoms? How do you handle it? How can you differentiate it from a normal diaper rash?
Someone just asked this question but since it was personal she got personalized responses and I never see straight forward answers about what it looks like and how to deal with it.

Re: Yeast Overview
Well you could google some absolutely horrific pictures from google images, but it might burn your retinas. Basically a yeast rash has tell tale "satellite lesions" which are basically little red dots. When DD had a regular diaper rash (diagnosed by the GP) it was just red, very red, and raw. When she gets a yeast rash it's red, but there are dots, so that is how I know the difference.
When DD gets a yeast rash I usually put her in sposies for 24 hours so I can smear Monistat on her bum 2x/day along with something with zinc oxide in it without worrying about her CD's. Then I treat her CD's, cloth wipes, and wetbags with a cycle with bleach. I even bleach out the container that holds her cloth wipes to kill the yeast. If it's the summer I sun everything out in the sun, if it's the winter everything goes in the dryer.
I use a liner in her CD's when I have to use the Monistat to protect the CD's, and then continue adding 1/4 cup of oxygen bleach to the hot wash for a week afterwards as a little overkill for the yeast for a week to make sure it's completely gone.
