Anyone know if you can take Prilosec and Zantac in the same day?

I have been waking up w/ horrible acid reflux (choking in the middle of the night) and I am already on Prilosec which I take during the day.  Does anyone know if I can take Zantac as well before bed?  I'm desperate at this point and I can already feel the acid building up in my chest tonight.

Call your local CVS or Walgreens and ask the pharmacist. They know what meds you cna take at the same time, and usually are able to answer questions like that quicker than your doctor. If you can't, you can take Tums with both.

Yes you can. I have taken Prilosec twice a day with a Zantac in between. If it gets really bad, I'd suggest switching to Prevacid. It's expensive over the counter if your insurance won't cover the prescription, but it worked wonders for me. The downside is it could take a few days to take effect, and you can't take anything else with it. Luckily, for me, it worked on day one.

Yes you can!!!  I take both daily.  Had to with my 1st pregnancy also:(  It was so bad with that one, this one isn't as bad but still need both....and some tums.
