pelvic exam

I had a pelvic exam today at my 35 week appointment, will I be getting one every week now?

Re: pelvic exam

  • Most likely, yes. I did not have one at 35 weeks, just the Group B test, and wasn't suppose to have one today but because I was having problems they checked and I believe my doctors office starts doing them regularly at 37 weeks. If you don't want one you can say no, it's very uncomfortable when you're not far along but not AS bad when you've dilated and thinned out more. Just dont freak out if you bleed any afterward lol I kinda did the first time.

  • If I've been having BH contractions or any pain/pressure at all, my doc asks if I want a pelvic...she started that at 30 weeks...but otherwise their office usually starts pelvics at 36 weeks.
