Getting Nervous

Still pregnant?!?  Lots of false labor.  Doctor wants to induce next Thursday.  I am about 2 centimeters dilated and 50% effaced.  If I do have to be induced next Thursday should I ask for my water to be broken first or should I ask for the pitocin first?  Should I ask for something completely different?

I would ask for my water to be broken first.  When pregnant with DD, it sent me into labor within minutes.

I already negotiated for next Thursday, so it is her drop dead last day.  She will not do a foley bulb, she told me that it raises the rupture rate.  It does not really make sense to me, but she has been very firm on not using a foley bulb.  Thankfully I am dilated enough to have my water broken if necessary.  I just hope this baby comes on its own before then!  Any other advice would be greatly appreciated!

Odd, that she is willing to use the pitocin but not Foley. I think I would avoid pitocin at any cost. But you still have 6 days, a lot could happen between now and then. Good luck.

I had heard the opposite--that pitocin increases your chances of UR and foley bulbs are fairly safe.  Whatever happens, good luck!  Lots of labor dust to you :-)

That is what I always thought too, but I guess I am not a Doctor.  Thank you for the well wishes!
