DS just turned 7 months and the pedi said we can start chicken. He is really only eating purees and we just started puffs. How do you prepare chicken for LO? Can it be pureed it with veggies?
I baked mine with just a little water in the bottom of the pan. Then, I pureed it in my baby bullet. I added some homemade rice cereal to get a better consistency. When I serve it to her, I use a cube of chicken, a cube or two of rice cereal and two cubes of a fruit or veggie puree. My LO as enjoyed applesauce, pumpkin and acorn squash with her chicken.
I got a pound of ground chicken and just browned up in a skillet for him. I put in a little garlic to get him used to some spices I'll be using in our meals. It was a pretty big hit, both with LO and the cat, who got to eat all the crumbs on the floor...lol.
One of the moms in my play groups says she buys a bulk package of the drumsticks and boils them up, shreds the meat for her LO, and like PP said, lets LO gnaw on the bones.

Re: How do you prepare chicken for LO?
It goes well with applesauce.
We're doing BLW so I offer strips of meat or a bone with a bit of meat left on it. He LOVES to gnaw on a drumstick bone.
