With #1, I was induced with pit. For the first couple hours, I had period like cramps. They gave me an ambien to help sleep and I remember waking up to pain so bad that I peed myself. I had no advance warning or build up and it took me be surprise. Once It came the second time and I still had trouble holding my bladder, I got an epi.
With #2, they just broke my water and I walked and labored until 7 cm and didn't have the same problem. Since the pain grew more gradually, I was able to prepare myself more and I wasn't in bed.
It is funny when they break your water because fluid gushes out with each contraction so I was laying in bed and couldn't help but laugh because I felt like I was peeing myself every time.

Yes, especially when they pump you full of IV fluids (if you're on PIT or having an epidural).
I also warn you that your body WILL want to get rid of everything in your system... so if you feel the need to poo, have at it. Especially before you get too far into labor that there is no getting down off that table!
I did. I peed like crazy while I was in labor. I was thirsty so I drank water and juice AND I had an IV so I was constantly needing to go!
I don't remember needing to go once things really got intense - like in transition intense. And obviously I wasn't getting up to pee during second stage!!
If you have an epi, you'll get a catheter so you probably won't feel the urge then.
I did not, and I was drinking water by the gallons (well not literally But I was drinking CONSTANTLY) I had a med free delivery, so I was working so hard and sweating so much I needed the water to replenish everything I was losing, but I didn't have any extra to pee out.
