Any thoughts on this rather old-school name? And do you think there is any way that little future Marceline gets through school without ending up as Marcy?
After a certain age it's up to a person if they go by a nickname or not... before that point, the parents can be the ones correcting people all the time.
I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living my baby you'll be.

I might just be a nerd but I think of Marceline the Vampire Queen from Adventure Time.
Me too! That's not a bad thing, though. I actually love this name. You could also call her Lina or something to do with the last part of her name if you don't like Marcy.
I really like this name and think its beautiful-- however I would not use for the simple fear of her becoming Marci beyond your control!! I know you can correct people but A- that gets annoying after a while and B- she might like Marci as a kid and want to use it!
Re: Marceline
It is the name of the town on which Walt Disney based Main Street USA at DisneyLand.
I really like it. I would think of Celine as nn before Marcy.

Overall, I think it's sweet and fits every age. Nns are hard to predict, if baby likes to be called Marcy there will be no fighting it.
