I had to make a quick trip to the post office today to mail the IL's Hanukkah presents.  I had DS (6 weeks) in the stroller and DD (2yrs) walking, plus a huge box.  DD wouldn't hold on to the stroller, she wanted my hand (which ordinarily is a fight in and of itself), but I struggled to hold her hand in the parking lot, push the stroller, and hold the box.

I have a Moby, which I use a lot, but I'm thinking that's going to be a must-use for stuff like this.  

How does everyone else get this type of stuff done?

Things like that are why I love my double stroller. If I had only had a single stroller though I would have #2 in a carrier and #1 in the stroller.

I'm also lucky that we have a post office in the grocery store so I could always use a cart if necessary.

Definitely wear the baby in those kinds of situations. I rarely use a double and babywear most of the time.

Were it me, I'd put them both in the double-stroller and then put the box in the stroller basket if it would fit... if not, struggle to hold the box and push the stroller and pray that someone is kind enough to open the door for me.

If it was a quick trip I would have had DD in the car seat carrier and held DS's hand. That's what I usually do or I would take the double stroller. Since you said you were carrying a big box also, I probably would have pushed the double stroller while carrying the box....and hope someone sees me to help me out!
