halp! dinner ideas for saturday...

DH and I's anniversary is on Saturday. We want to go out to eat, BUT we can't do something super nice. We will have M with us. (We are totally fine with this.)

That being said, we are kinda at a loss. We kinda want to try something new or different - we are ok with casual (not SUPER casual like fast food LOL). It's not a big anniversary or anything, we just don't want to cook and will have a 20 month old with us.  :)

Any ideas on where we might be able to go south/southwest/downtownish/central?

  • Satellite in Circe C is our new go-to.  https://www.satellitebistro.com/  We love it and they are always really accomodating to Logie.  Happy Anniversary!

  • if it stop raining, how about something like g'raj mahal?  it's outside, so it'd have to be nice weather, but we love it

  • Jack Allen's is good, and kid friendly if you go on the early side.  They also have a jalapeno margarita that rocks.  Speaking of margaritas, Curra's grill on Oltorf is good Mexican food with great avocado margaritas and our kids love it.
  • I second Jack Allen's. It is the nicest place that I can still take DD to.
  • Yes!  Jack Allen's!  omg I DIE for their Sunday brunch.
  • Contigo, if it is nice out. I've heard great things about the play area for kids, and their food is fab. Neither cheap nor super expensive.

  • Thanks everyone - Jack Allen's it is! I let DH know these suggestions and he said "you had me at chicken fried anything". Ha!  We actually have wanted to try it but always forget about it.

(I totally want to go to all of these places mentioned though!!!)

  • Jack Allens is next on my list. Just want to second BabyMillie's suggestion of Satellite. We've been there a couple of times with DD and it's never been an issue. It's the only restaurant that we took her to with her carseat that actually had slings rather than using a highchair that didn't work with our carseat. They get major props for that :)
