Second time moms - re: NIP

Do you find that you are more likely to NIP the second time around?  When DD#1 was a baby, I nursed her in the car, dressing rooms, etc. when we were out.  With this one, I NIP almost every time...at the mall food court, while walking around Target, in restaurants.  My life doesn't stop to feed my baby anymore.  It's quite liberating.  I've never gotten any negative comments, as most people don't realize that I'm nursing her.

I find a restaurant one of the easiest places to NIP! No one cares, they all have their own stuff to focus on.

I just jumped in with baby #1. We were out and about within a couple weeks, and I just fed him where he was hungry. Sometimes I used a cover, sometimes not.

Now I'm glad I did it then, because he won't tolerate a cover now and if there's anything good to look at he's on and off over and over - it's not great to try in public. But he only needs to eat every 3-4 hours, so it's not really a problem.

I am pregnant for #2, but considering how much I NIP with DS I suspect it will be even more with #2, just purely out of convenience. I did often nurse in a restuarant. I would nurse as soon as we got there and he would be fed and content by the time my food came. We always asked for a booth and it was always very discreet. I think the only place I haven't nurse is church, its not that I wouldn't but I would probably go find a private spot there if needed.

Once DS hit 4 months, I said FTW and started NIP!

I just wasn't discreet enough to do it before that! I seriously had to bare my boob, hold it and draw him in. Once he was 4 months he pretty much just latched himself.

Lurker here-with DD I NIP a lot but used a cover every single time, even when it was just other moms and babes. This time, I still nip a lot but never use a cover. The first time I was nervous but felt so liberated after and so I continued. So much less fuss without a cover and I expose less anyway. I use the two shirt method and pull my bottom tank down and top shirt up so very little is exposed. No one has ever said anything and my uncle even came over and kissed LO on the head thinking he was sleeping and had no idea.

That happens to me a lot.  People will want to peek at her and not realize I'm nursing her.  It's like, "Dude, you're close enough to lick my nipple."
