Pantyhose rules?

When do you have to wear pantyhose? I'm wearing a dress at work today with naked legs...and I'm wondering if I screwed up. My thoughts were that it's not cold today, and I live in Texas (who wears pantyhose in Texas?). If it matters, I'm wearin black patent ballet flats - not boots or heels. Also, I work in PR for government. So while I don't usually get as dressed up as wearing a suit, a lot of the people I interact with at the office are in suits. And I've never paid attention to whether my colleagues are in hose or not.

I think it depends more on the company and location.  I worked at a big 4 accounting firm in Detroit and they were very business formal, any time we were in a skirt we had to wear nylons and open toe shoes were never allowed.  Then I move to Austin and work for a very business casual company where we could get away with flip flops.  Nobody wore nylons there.

I think the rules are different in Texas.  I go in a courtroom and have tried cases with bare legs.  Just make sure your legs are shaved and no freaky scaley skin and you are good.

You never have to wear pantyhose in Texas. Which is nice.

A friend of mine used to have some funny line she would drop about how "If Princess Diana doesn't have to wear pantyhose with her dresses, neither do I"

When I was working in the courts in Dallas (2004ish) you had to wear hose if you were in a skirt. And you couldn't wear open toed shoes. Apparently, women were only allowed to wear pants in court a few years earlier. Some of the judges were super old school. Dumb.

IMO, it's never okay to wear pantyhose unless you are over 50 or you work at Hooters and have to wear it under those orange shorts.

If I wear "hoisery" it's black tights.

Hooters ::gigglesnort:: It always cracks me up when you can see the pantyliner/control top part sticking out from their short shorts. HA!!!
