Sitting up question

DD has been sitting up for a while now and has shown some interest in crawling. However, she only sits up when we sit her up.  How/when should she be able to go from lying down to sitting herself up?

Depends on the baby. My daughter did not start being able to sit up by herself till 7 or 8 months old.

DD just mastered it about 2 weeks ago. So about 8 months. She goes from laying on her tummy and hand walks up one side until she is sitting.

It really does just all depend on the baby. My DD started sitting herself up around 6 months and then crawling usually comes soon after. My DD just started crawling about a week ago.

DS has been crawling for about two months now. He just got himself into the sitting position last week.

DS has only gotten himself almost into a sitting position once and he's 8 1/2 months old.  Obviously he's taking his time

DS had been sitting up for awhile now but like yours only when we put him in a sitting position. He started crawling maybe 3-4 weeks ago and I was wondering when he would ever be able to get himself into a sitting position and suddenly volia last week he could get into a sitting position himself and he does it all the time now. He gets there from the crawl position so maybe once she masters that she'll sit soon afterwards too.

My DD just started to sit up by herself last week .. she will be 8 months this week.
