The Little Gym vs. Gymboree

I used a groupon this last month for Gymboree and Lyla really enjoyed it and it was a great outlet for her energy and desire to climb, etc. on things.

My parents want to get her an "activity" for Christmas and we were thinking of just doing the membership at Gymboree. However, the Lakeline location of The Little Gym is right near our house and I was wondering if anyone had ever belonged to that.

 How do they compare pricewise?

What do they offer? How is it different than Gymboree?

I think they might offer a free class, so I'll probably check it out I just wondered if anyone had already done the comparison shopping...

Re: The Little Gym vs. Gymboree

  • DD takes classes at LG.

I've only done the free class at Gymboree when DD was much younger, so I probably can't offer a completely accurate comparison, but it seemed to me that LG is more skill based (they do activities using the balance beam, the bars, the rings, etc.), while Gymboree was more exploratory. We really love the teacher that does DD's class (Lakeline location).

LG is more expensive than Gymboree - I think there's a $50 enrollment fee and we pay $80/month (it's cheaper if you pay in fewer installments). They do offer a free trial - definitely try a class out and see how you like it!
