*CaniacMom*

I'm dying to know how you found out at 22 weeks that you were pregnant. Was it a total shock?  I would have probably fainted!!

I'm glad everything worked out as well as it did! That must've been such a rollercoaster for you!

  • It was a total shock to DH & I.  The time between finding out and havig the ultrasound were so trying.  We did not know what to expect and were very nervous.  It took a few days to get used to the idea once we found out all was good with the pregnancy.  I finally started showing  at about 24 weeks.

I went back to work with an ultrasound picture in hand and started showing it around and making the big announcement. The hardest person to tell was our other son.  He had been an only child for almost 14 years - he thought we were lying-  he examined the ultrasound for my name and the date.  I was fortunate to have a healthy pregnancy and did not have to miss anything during that timeframe.  We went to two hockey games, I worked I don't know how many shifts at our church youth group's tree lot with him, etc.  So far life has not had to change too much for him.

A few months ago I was sitting with this sweet older lady I work with and told her that I had never know that I wanted another baby.  She just looked at me and said 'God knew you wanted one'.

That give me the chills!!  What an awesome story. Im happy to hear your 14 yo made the adjustment nicely. I had a weird moment last night, and I am not even pms'ing. Whitney woke up about 11pm, and I brought her into bed with me to give her a bottle. She will never ever sit still, and has never laid in bed with me, but I wanted to try.  She layed on her back, me on my side, and I kissed her head as she drank her bottle. I started to cry and just said a little prayer of thanks.

Surprise or no surprise, it sure is a blessing.
