My first 8 weeks I'm being monitored by my fertility center, but I need to find an OBGYN that I trust. I find out Sunday if I'm having twins and then I want to set up my first appt. I'm almost 5 weeks. I wish I could do a trial run with them! I don't trust my current OBGYN. Anyone else having a hard time deciding?
Re: Anyone having trouble picking a doctor?
Try calling around a few OB/GYN offices and see if they will let you come in and meet the doctors. I just switched clinics because at my old clinic, there was a nurse that was extremely rude to me a couple times over the phone and I just didn't want to give my business to that clinic anymore. The new place I am going to is going to let me come in and meet all of the doctors, chat with them, and pick one. This will be done at the same time as my first appt because my first appt will be done with a nurse practitioner.
Best of luck!
I'm a former labor and delivery nurse. Best advice I can give you is to call the L&D unit at the hospital you want to deliver at, ask for an L&D nurse and ask them who their OB is. Legally they are not allowed to recommend one, but you can simply ask who they go to!
I know about 50+ OBs, I would only let a few touch me.
GL!
I hate my hospital but love my ob. I think I have finally made the decision that he is worth the hospital. Also, to help me make that decision is I was almost 6 cm before I went into labor, and all the other hospitals (except an unvbac friendly one) are over an hour away, good traffic. I don't want a side of the road baby.
But I am giving the hospital a lot of restrictions, like a certain anesthiologist is not allowed to come near me.
