Anyone sucessfully transition off Nutramigen?

 How old was LO when you switched, and how did you do it (i.e. cold turkey, or mixing the two formulas)? Which formula did you switch to?  We would like to attempt to wean DD off Nutramigen to regular formula after her 6 month appt...but I'm very nervous!

My LO was on allumentium and to be honest we tried to wean him off before a year , at 8 months and 10 months, but everytime we did he got really sick again.  We finally decided to wait until he was a year. 

We were able to switch to WCM without any issues.

I hope you are able to get off that stuff sooner rather then later because of the expense and b/c it is just so darn nasty.  But don't be surprised if you have to wait a little longer.

ps- when we did try and switch, we tried mixing the two formulas at first, and then we tried to just give the regular formula plain.  It didn't work for us b/c his tummy just couldn't take the regular formula.

But, when we switched to WCM, we started off by just adding a little bit at a time and eventually got to half and half milk/ formula.  then I just switched the whole way to milk,

We did around 6 months for DD1. We had to do a gradual transition over a couple of weeks.n We went to soy formula. We are still on soy combined with lactaid for her.

We switched all together over to gentle ease over a weekend when she turned 8 months.  They recommened trying it and not mixing otherwise you don't know if they're able to handle it.  She was a little gassy but has been great.  We've been officially on gentle ease for a month now.

Thanks ladies! She is turning 6 months on Friday... I am contemplating trying to switch back to gentlease in the next few weeks.

We got the OK to switch at his 6 month appt. He was on Similac Alim. We switched over to Similac Sensitive! Cold turkey over the weekend so we would know how he did and not the daycare. We still put gas drops in each bottle and he did great! Good luck! I was so excited to switch, it was like a pay raise!!
