Success after IF

Just beginning the process...

Hi, everyone.  I have been on this website several times reading wonderful tips, advice, and success stories, but this is the first time I am posting anything.  My DH (I'm catching onto all of these abbreviations...*smile*) and I are just beginning the IVF process (my husband had a vasectomy about 5 years ago).  We have met with the urologist and our RE.  In two days, my husband is scheduled for the sperm aspiration and I will begin my appointments as well.  My husband has a 12 year old daughter from a previous marriage.  We have full physical custody of her and she is very excited and anxious to become a big sister.  I am 37 and have never been PG. While I am very excited about becoming a mom, I am having the typical concerns about child birth, labor, etc.  Any tips or bits of advice for us as we venture through the beginning steps of IVF?

Re: Just beginning the process...

  • Just wanted to say hi and good luck!  My only advice would be to take it one step at a time.  It is so overwhelming to try to look at the entire process at once -- I tried to take it one day at a time and focus on what I needed to do that day.  Best of luck to you!
