Moving to Austin. Recommend your Dr!

Moving to Austin in January and I will be 19 weeks at the time.  I need a doctor and dont even know where to start looking.

A little history here....this is my 3rd pregnancy.  The first two I had Pre-Eclampsia.  Delivered my first at 37 weeks and my second came very quickly at 33 weeks.  My current doctor doesnt seem to think I will get it again but every doctor says something different.  My doctor considers me high risk but I dont think that means I need to see a high risk doctor.  I think they all pretty much know the same thing about pre-e (which isnt much).  Thanks in advance!

  • What part of town?  I see Dr O l i v e r at W P I H and love her!!  I think a bunch of ladies on here go to the same practice.  There are some great doctors there.

    Good luck with your move!

  • I will actually be in the Bastrop area but am willing to go anywhere in Austin if it means getting a good doctor.  Ive heard to deliver at Seton because they have the best NICU in case we end up there again (dont know how true that is).

The doctors at WPIH deliver at Seton Main.  It's actually right across the street from the hospital.

My boy is a product of the Seton NICU. They are amazing. We loved them. The WPH practice is right across the road from Seton Main and they only deliver there.

  • Another vote for Wom en Partn ers in He alth. I used Dr. N a s h and ADORE her. I also dealt with elevated blood pressure in my third tri with DS. She was awesome!

My DD is also a product of Seton NICU (though the NW location) I highly recommend them. I don't have a OB rec, since we're so far north.

Ditto.  I really love this doctor and had a great experience with the on call doctor (Swenson) when I delivered.  Welcome to the Austin area!

Same here. I had some complications (fetal distress, not pre-e) at the end of my PG while Dr O was on vacation, and the on-call doctors from the practice took excellent care of baby and me.

  • my sister just had a great experience with Dr R e u e who is also at seton main. (she had a high risk complication with her pregnancy) her twins just graduated from the seton nicu :)
  • Lots of ladies on here go to Austin Area OBGYN and they have a wonderful office. I see Dr Seeker and he's the most wonderful doctor ever.  I had an uncomplicated pregnancy with my son, but have had some issues since then and they have been so wonderful, I feel so well taken care of.  I hope to be seeing him again soon!

Absolutely this... we thought our daughter might make it to the NICU so I researched like crazy and this was the best in the state.  I see Dr. Reich at WPIH she delivers at Seton.
