Favorite middle names for Charles

Hi all,

What are your favorite middle names that go well with Charles (with a sometimes nn of Charlie?) as a first name?

Our last name is 1 syllable, so something longer might flow better if we plan to call him Charles.

His sister's name is Penelope Claire.

Any suggestions or favorites?

If #2 was a boy, it would have been Charles Otis.  Other names we tossed around were Charles Edward, Charles John, Charles Andrew, Charles Jeffrey, and Charles Douglas.  They are all family names.  Honestly, I think Charles sound good with just about any name!  Do you have a member of your family you'd like to honor?  I bet it would work!

We were going to do Charles Alexander but thought it was too preppy.  All I could picture was a little boy in a sweater vest with glasses!  DS is Charles Christian and we've gotten lots of compliments on it

We almost named our boy Charles Henry, but decided to go with Charles Stewart, to honor our friends that introduced my husband and myself. Henry is my current favorite name for a 2nd boy.

Our last name is monosyllabic, German, and rather harsh-sounding.
