Poll: Bringing a dish to a shower...

Tomorrow afternoon my co-workers are throwing me a shower at work.  It's a potluck late lunch type of thing.  Here's my question, do I need to bring a dish?  I guess I should just ask them but I feel kind of stupid asking them for some reason.

So, what do you guys think? If I need to bring something what should it be? The only thing I know for sure will be there is cupcakes.

Re: Poll: Bringing a dish to a shower...

  • It's certainly not going to be expected. I think I ended up bringing something to my work shower because I never have an opportunity to participate in those events now that I work offsite - and I like cooking. So, if you want to bring something, go ahead, but don't feel obligated.

  • I say no to bringing a dish, but in my office, a lot of people bring donuts as a thank you on the day people throw them a shower.

I love this idea.  Thanks for sharing!

Would it be tacky if I bring them the next day?  Then, I could email the hostesses/ participants and when they come by to get one I can hand them their thank you note.  If they don't come get donuts, I'll just take their TY to them.

     (Be honest...is this dumb?)
