Which is your favorite Texas beach?  I turn 30 this year and I want to spend it sitting in the sand with a drink in hand and the waves lapping up around my legs.  It would be a family trip with the kids.

I love South Padre. The beaches are great and there's plenty to do in the town as well.

of those i'd say south padre 100%  if you want to see a bazillion pictures from this summer you can go to my flikr set HERE

its kinda a long drive, but we had a great time

Wait, you said "this year", which means it's going to be cold on the beach. 

We go to Padre every year for NYE and it's always nice, but cold and windy and I wouldn't want to be sitting on the beach at all.

I'm mentally skipping over Christmas.  Its already 2012 in my head.  My bday is in June, I got plenty of time to plan

We go to Port A a lot but it's just to veg and fish. If I wanted what you want, I'd definitely go to Padre. There's fun stuff for y'all to do with the kids--mini golf, a bunch of those beach shops where you can buy a lot of junk, etc.

I've been wanting to go to S. Padre again for a long time, but haven't wanted to do the drive with the kiddos.

I also heard from a friend that N. Padre has some nice camping areas.

We really like the South Padre National Seashore, which is just south of Corpus.
