I've been doing mostly holiday/winter themed lunches and they sure are fun and easy! If nothing else, you've at least gotta try the donut snowman - how cute is he?! PIP your cute lunches here!
Snowman milk! I found this round container of tangerine juice and just had to buy it. After the juice was consumed, I washed the container and turned it into a snowman! The buttons are stuck on with glue dots and the snowman's facial details are sprinkles stuck straight into the donut, as is the chocolate-covered sunflower seed. And for the record, my DD kept teasing about eating the snowman before the healthy parts of her lunch, so she didn't get to eat him until the following day.
This was the lunch that went along with the drink. The muffin tin is from the Target $1 spot last year and the Christmas tree container is from this year. She had grape tomatoes, raisins, clementines, pomegranate arils (a new food to DD and she did eat a few), blackberries and a sandwich topped with Swiss cheese.
Another snowman, this time in the form of a halved pear. The hat is cut from a square marshmallow with edible marker accent (she doesn't like marshmallow, so I could have written on it with whatever I wanted!), tomatoes on a stir stick, strawberry applesauce and broccoli macaroni. I made a batch of the noodles, cooked them in muffin tins and froze them. Then I just pop them into the microwave at lunchtime - easy!
New containers! I just had to use our new chick and pea pod silicone containers and pretty much just threw everything else on the plate! Pretzels, hardboiled egg, grapes, blackberries and leftover pot pie.
Even a boring lunch looks better in this cute pig container. A homemade sealed sandwich on the right is topped with a piece of cheese (and is sorely lacking in color). On the left is a pig silicone with dried strawberries, grapes and tomatoes, and a little pig container with pomegranate arils. She's officially decided she doesn't like them, but when they're in such a cute little container, she can't help but eat a few. Score for Mom!
Re: *Cute lunch check-in*
Great ideas! Love your post as always.
I wanted to let everyone know that I found candy eyeballs (Wilton) at Walmart this weekend in their baking section. It's a very small store and I would have never thought to look for them. I am SO excited to surprise DS with a fun breakfast tomorrow! Now...... I have english muffins, smoothies, applesauce, pineapple, and frozen berries. How creative can I be?
