Sign Language

I haven't done much research but have been trying to use some sign language with LO.

My question is, do you think she will learn it if I don't do it everytime? I am horrible about remembering to do it right before. I always remember during or right after.

Re: Sign Language

  • Just like talking, the more consistent you are the better it goes. I'm not the best, but I stuck up some flashcards around the house to remind me.

  • I do it when I remember. Certainly not every time. He understands milk and eat so far (he gets very excited and happy when I do them and he immediately crawls to me for milk). He does not do the signs yet. My understanding is once they pick up a few signs, it will be easier to learn subsequent signs. Just keepmdoing it when you remember. I think during and after ismjst as helpful as before. 1ht on iPad.

  • My LO can do "more" and under stands eat, and milk.  We are also doing book, and all done.

  • Yes.  My guy learned "milk" and signs it regularly.  I was never consistent and my hubby didn't do it until he saw the babe sign milk then he got on board/didn't feel so silly maybe.  Now we're signing "more" and "all done".  I should probably add "water" (he loves it), "eat" and "book".  It is just a habit we have to get in to.  I think once they start signing back it gets easier to remember.
