What do we think or coordinating outfits for siblings

at Christmas?

I am not much on matchy matchy things, but the kids usually coordinate.  This year I bought B's dress early.  Just bought Crash a sweater.  Her dress is red and his sweater is light blue with a brown argyle pattern.

 Not sure I'm feeling it.

What do you ladies think?

Re: What do we think or coordinating outfits for siblings

  • My mother always made sure me and my bro's were coordinating at Christmas and I find myself doing the same thing.  My boys and I wear things in the same color scheme at holidays so that when I look at the photos later, I'm not cringing.  So far I haven't resorted to buying matching outfits from Children's Place or Hannah Anderson but I'm tempted sometimes.
  • last year i had the kids coordinate, this year I'm not. Mostly because MIL bought Lexi a christmas fancy dress, for her birthday back in oct, and its got a pinky purple color in it. (Lexi picked it) and then MIL picked up Orion a little suit and sweater combo thats got baby blue in it.

  • I am a huge fan! My poor girls will probably dress alike far past the point of cuteness.

  • I like coordinating but not matchy-matchy.  Then again, I cannot say that I won't have my boys in matching outfits once they are both here.  LOL.

G is wearing brown tweed pants and a red sweater.  This mainly means that DH and I won't be wearing black.  DH will wear dark brown pants and who knows what shirt.  I am wearing khakis, a red shirt and a fun white cardigan.

I think that as long as they are the both level of 'dressy' then it could work.  It would depend on the tone of red for me.  Could you get her a brown cardigan to go with the dress that would tie in the brown argyle?

  • I love coordinated outfits.  But that said, I also like to match with my DS and often force DH to match with us as well.  We are one step away from identical Christmas sweaters.  ;)

  • I'm not a matchinging outfit fan.  I guess I can deal with coordinating color schemes though!
  • Ok, so before having a kid, I was anti matching outfits. But now I like the idea of well coordinated outfits and once in a while, special occassions, matching. And for photos. I like the connection it shows. And I think there can be outfits that are very well coordinated that do not match but go together nicely without being obvious. Maybe it is that the outfits compliment each other well more than coordinating.

For everyday stuff, I'm not so fond of it.

    What can I say...I'm a dork :)

  • I'm all for it. I'll post our Santa pics shortly, but I do it here and there throughout the year. Sometimes it is just the boys and sometimes it is just the twins. I think it is adorable and I'm going to do it until they won't let me anymore.

  • I feel that as long as you all look like you're going to the same party, you're good. Go with your gut.
