Houston Babies

If you have PCOS and did IVF, please come in!

I asked a while back about RE recommendations but now we're moving to IVF and I want some opinion.  If you have PCOS, who did you go to for IVF?  What clinic and what RE?  Were you successful on your first try?

I ask because my current RE doesn't have the best IVF statistics on sart.org so I'm a little concerned.  I also looked at a few other clinics and it doesn't seem like any of them do many IVFs with PCOS patiens (assuming they are classifying us as ovulatory disfunction).  I have a hard time believing that the biggest clinics here only did 5 and 6 IVFs on PCOS gals in 2009.

Any ideas, opinions, and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  TIA!

  • Yes, I did.  I saw Dr. McKenzie at Houston IVF.  I was successful on my first IVF after 2 failed IUIs.  They have very good stats.

    Best of luck to you!

  • Thanks so much!  Dr McKenzie was my 1st RE but my DH didn't like the feel of the office.  They are at the top of my list for another opinion.  I love my RE but I feel in my gut that I should go somewhere else for IVF.  We are 100% OOP and I want the best.

    Thanks!

  • I was just considered PCOish (our primary issue was MFI) but we saw Dr Gill at HFI. Their embryologist is seriously amazing.

Thanks!  This is the other clinic we're considering.  I'm just not sure what to do.  It's such a big decision.

  • I went to HFI and had a great experience. Dr. Williams was my doctor and he was skilled and had excellent bedside manner. I got pregnant with the first (fresh) transfer but lost the baby at 5 weeks. Got pregnant again 10 weeks later with my frozen trasnfer and just hit my 20 week mark.  My husband and I plan to go back to Dr. Williams for Baby number 2. The staff at the Piney Point location is amazing. I still stay in touch with my nurses and they are happy to have me email them whenever I have questions, even though I have been released since week 11. I would not go anywhere else.

  • I went to HFI and Dr. Gill was my Dr.  He is amazing and wonderful! My first IVF was a success.  My daughter is now 1 years old.
