The ultimate in pregnancy brain

Saturday DH and I had to run some errands and I ended up leaving my house keys IN the lock on the front door. (I have the valet keychain so my car key can be separated from the rest.) I didn't realize I didn't have them until we got to our first destination... Poor DH drove all the way back home and thankfully everything was ok. But my goodness, this has got to stop!

Any other stories of pregnancy brain ruining your life?!?!

I spent an evening washing all of baby's clothes, blankets. towels, etc. and then organized it all the next day.  I was feeling really proud of myself, but I was confused that I wasn't seeing some of the cute hats I remember getting.  It wasn't until I had sorted through and folded everything that I went into the baby room and saw that I had completely overlooked the massive giftbag stuffed to overflowing with what turned out to be half of baby's total clothes.  I won't be so fast to pat myself on the back and call it a day next time. >.<;

I went to the grocery store Saturday for potatoes...$70.00 later I walk out, get in my car and start driving home to realize I forgot the potatoes.

DH usually does the dishes after dinner.  He had a really rough week last week so to give him a break, I did the dishes.

or so I thought . . .

I was in the bedroom changing for bed when I heard him laughing from the kitchen.  I'd totally overlooked the pots and pans that I had left on the stove before dinner to cool down.

I got my December water bill and it said my account was past due and that I hadn't paid November.  I've never not paid a bill so I was a bit confused.  So I pulled out my November statement that I had on my desk which also had the date, amount and confirmation of my online payment noted on it.  So I called up the water department all righteous saying they must have made a mistake as I had the confirmation of payment in front of me.  I come to find that I did pay November, but November 2010.  The invoice I had been looking at was from last year!   Thankfully, the girl on the phone was very nice but I was so embarrassed.  So I was apparently looking at this year-old invoice and must have thought I paid it last month when in fact I totally skipped a payment.  Just glad they didn't shut off my water!

A couple of weeks ago I missplaced my decaf coffee. I noramlly keep it in the fridge and I looked everywear for it. I finally just figured that I had thrown it out on accident.  A few days ago I opened up a random cupboard and there it was!

I do this waaaay too often. I even make very specific lists, but somehow read right over the important things. *sigh*...

I seem to have forgotten how to drink. I keep spilling water, etc all over myself as if I have a hole in my lip. Perhaps my pregnancy brain = a decline in motor skills?

The other day I walked by my dog's housetraining pad and noticed that he had peed on it, but the pee had made a puddle instead of the pad absorbing it like usual. Upon closer inspection, I realized that I had laid the puppy pad on the floor UPSIDE DOWN. Cleanup wasn't too messy, but I'm glad I noticed it before DH. He would have never let me live that one down. Fml.

I've left my keys in my car WHILE IT WAS RUNNING while I leisurely shopped at Target for 45 minutes.

Then, during the same week, I walked out of a store holding 3 baby outfits.  Yeah, I unintentionally shoplifted. A security guard came up to me and asked if intended to pay for my items and I had no clue what he was talking about.  

Sigh.  I'm not allowed to do anything by myself any more.

 Hahahaha!!!!  You win!!

That's nothing. When I was pregnant with DS I left my wedding rings in a staff bathroom at the hospital where I work and they were gone when I finally realized I wasn't wearing them 30 minutes later.  I bawled all the way home and my DH had to calm me down.

went out for some alone time with the intent of getting some tea at coffie bean and doing some christmas shopping...

Got to the store first, picked out a bunch of stuff and when I got to the register realised the purse was at home on the dinning room table. I had grabbed my keys.. nothing else.

Purchased a new license because I "lost" the original, well today I found it in my coat pocket, now I have two licenses!

It's funny now, but when it happened I just sat in my car bawling feeling like a total idiot.  I mean, what kind of person does either of those things?! 

OMG! I would have been mortified at the time, but I'd totally be laughing at myself now. You definitely win!
