Last week at my 32w appointment my blood pressure was up, they said to come back in a week instead of two to keep an eye on it. Went back today and it is still up, so non-chalantly the doctor says you will just have to stop working! I work ten hour days on my feet, so I understood, but still hard to swallow. I am not good at sitting and resting, but know it is what is best for munchkin and I. Just looking for some advice on how to handle the next 7 weeks, I am pretty freaked out about the whole situation, but breathing and trying to relax! Thanks in advance ladies

I was just about to ask what her modifications were because I, personally, think there is a big difference between 10hrs on your feet and never getting out of bed. I saw your update though
It'll be interesting to see what happens with your BP. I wouldn't be surprised if it got better and she extended your 20 minutes to an hour or more.
No advice, but just wanted to say it'll be ok. You have us to keep you company
When I was on bed rest it helped to record alot of movies, read magazines, go outside, be on the internet, and making my own food. It was easy at first but towards the end I was acting like i was not even on bed rest anymore.
Good luck and hoping your blood pressure goes down.
You can do it, and your doctor might not keep you on bed rest until the end. I was put on strict bed rest a little over 3-weeks ago (supposed to be in bed or on the couch with my feet up 22-hrs a day). The NP I saw last time said my OB tends to take people off bed rest at 36-weeks, so we'll see what happens at my appointment tomorrow.
To answer your questions though, I read a lot of books, I've been putting together puzzles, video games, etc. the beginning is the hardest part, but atleast you can be up for short periods of time. You might be surprised, as soon as you're off work for a little while your BP could return to normal (that's what happened to me).
