Just had to share that I'm so happy we did this weekend express class.
They covered everything, from natural birth and different techniques to cope with pain throughout different stages of labor, what the partner can do, different positions, massaging techniques etc. It was awesome! Then we covered medicated birth and c-section. They talked about all risks, pros and cons, episiotomies and everything else. It was very educational and they talked about alot more things than I had even expected.
The second day a pediatritian came in, talked about the first hours after the baby is born, what they do, vaccinations within the first 18 months, circs and all that fun stuff. And then we did the basics of how to take care of a newborn, bathing, changing, learning different ques etc. They also talked about the physical and mental state of both parents, how to work together through the tough times and so on. I noticed it was quite the eyeopener for alot of men, including my DH. He knew some stuff, but not quite all of it LOL
Of course a lot of this stuff we already knew but it was still good to referesh your memory and simply hear it from a professional. It was also very nice to just talk to other couples who are going through the same thing, who share your fears etc. So I'm very happy we did it. It was way better than I had expected and I do feel more prepared and confident that I can do this:)
