RP from Preschool Board

I am looking for a firehouse/police station/or space station type toy for DS.  I want it to have little men to play with and be age-appropriate.  All that I am able to find is either waaay too much $$ (well over $100) or too old and intricate for an almost 3 year old.  Any ideas?  I like the ones that Kidkraft makes but I just can't justify the cost.

The Fisher Price Imaginext toy series has both a fire station and a space shuttle that come with characters, and while it says that it is for ages 4+, I think ds would have enjoyed them as an early 3 year old.
