So.. this was my dad's MN. I was never a fan.. but I wonder if it could ever be an OK name? Sadly I think everyone in the world thinks Sigmond Frued. Siggy is however a cute NN.
My sister might be able to use it as a MN since it goes better with her LN.
So how any side eyes do you think Sigmond would get as a MN?
( I should not throw out our other family names. Grandparents: Kermit, Webster and Holda... nice huh?)
Re: Sigmond
No side eyes here.
I think Elliott Sigmond sounds great. Or even Elliott Webster.
I don't really care for it as a first name, personally.
Really? Better than Anders or Mercer? I thought I'd let my sis use it.. I suppose I could. Hummm.
I don't want to use Webster..all I can think of it that TV show. LOL
As a MN? few to no side eyes. In a way, I think mn are reserved spots for those names you like/are special to you but that you don't want to use as first name ;-)
As a first name, I'd assume there was some German heritage in the family- not a bad thing, of course. I'm not a fan of the nn Siggy though.
Also a July 2013 Mom!
it could work as a MN, those allow pretty much anything with a special meaning
but I'd never ever use it as a FN
I actually love it as a middle name! Unusual without being bizarre, and honors a family member.
Two thumbs up.
I actually like Sigmond as a first or middle name.
Have you ever seen that Bill Murray movie, What About Bob? The son (granted, the son of a psychiatrist) is named Sigmond, and goes by Siggy. I've always liked it because of that movie.
