Reaction to Tomato? Anyone else?

So our DS had a stage 3 jar of food tonight...beef and mixed vegetables. The only things new in there for him were tomato and beef.

He broke out in a rash with hives on the side of his face.

Anyone else experience a reaction like this? Do you think it's the tomato? TIA!

It probably was the tomato. One of my friends has an allergy to them and she gets that same type of rash.

Not sure about baby reaction, but my tomato allergy is rash and lip/face swelling. It sucks. Hopefully you can narrow it down to prevent future reactions.

Tomato is also acidic, which can cause a reaction that isn't really an allergy. It's just an intolerance to the acid level, which is usually outgrown after a few months.

DD had a contact rash from tomato sauce.  It went away after i put water on it and it only appeared where the sauce went on her skin and stayed for a few.
