Cloth Diapering

To the poster who was using Gain

I wanted to follow up to a post from about 6 weeks ago.  She was struggling with odor issues, and ended up using Gain and it got rid of it.  I was curious how the CDs held up to the Gain, and if you are still using it.  I was just curious!

  • I think you're talking about me : )

I washed them in gain on accident. It helped to get the initial smell out, but I have since started using Tide with Calgon and have really been happy with how clean they are getting.

I did use it for a few washes before I switched and it seemed fine, but I did an additional rinse on top of what I usually do.

    The smell is gone!

  • Do you think it was your water (hardness, kind of thing)....

All of a sudden, we are getting stink, and plus she is peeing a ton.  So, the diapers are more soaked than they used to be.  I have been using planet, but I am not convinced it is the way to go.

I am going to have to look for Tide with calgon.....I don't know if I have ever seen it, I also have never looked before, so we shall see!

    Thanks

I think she means she is using Tide and adding calgon to the wash.  I don't think Tide comes with calgon included.

Yes Tide and then adding Calgon. Sorry for the confusion.

I do think it is my hard water causing some of the smell, but I know they were not getting as clean as they should've been when I was using Rockin'Green. They seem to be more clean using Tide. They don't have this weird smell when my inserts come out of the dryer anymore.
