Hi Ladies,
I got a BFP this morning and could not be more excited. I was wondering if any of you ladies could answer a question for me. I am calling tomorrow to set up a confirmation appointment since I have had a few issues with my period these past 3 months. My question is:
I have a 9.5 month old that is still breastfed and I am worried I will lose my supply now with the new pregnancy. Any tips to be able to nurse continually until atleast 1 year?
TIA ladies!
Re: New here and a few ?'s
I BF DS till he was about a year, I think I was 15 or 16 weeks pregnant. I found that I was just getting too tired, I felt run down, DS wasn't latching well anymore, it hurt more and was just frustrating me.
I weaned him to WCM in sippy cups and it was EASY. He didn't drink out of the sippy for 2 days and on day 3 he drank the WCM from the sippy no worries. Now he absolutely adores his milk.
DS was 7 months old when I got pregnant. I did notice a drop in my supply, but I still EBF until 8 months. I continued until 8.5 months when I found out that I was carrying triplets. I just thought there was only so much my body could handle. We FF from a bottle from that point until 12 months exactly. We introduced a sippy cup with water back around 6 months and were able to switch from formula in a bottle to cow's milk in a sippy by 12 months.
You should check out kellymom.com. There is lots of information about breastfeeding while pregnant. It certainly can be done!
