i was curious if Lilu Elisha Marie Plummer was too much....... ive always adored the name lilu and a dear friend of the family's daughter just passed away and i wanted to name my girl after her and Marie is a name that runs in my generation its my middle name and my two cousins middle name so id like to keep that tradition going if i can help it.. but is it too much???
Re: when do you know a name you pick is too long??
Yeah, that's kind of a mouthful.
You know you don't have to honor "everyone" with your child's name, right?
IMO, I prefer to give a child a name for himself/herself.. not in tribute or in memory of someone else. But that's just me.
There are other ways to honor someone than using your child's name.
I actually love it!
It flows well for me, but maybe it's because I have two middle names myself.
In some cultures two middle names are very common, and it is very common to use the middle name to honor important people who have passed. Follow your heart. Write it down a couple dozen times, say it out loud a couple dozen times, etc. If it sounds right to you, and you can tell her why, she will love it just as much as you do!
i agree.

I agree with this. My friend's cousin passed away and my friend wanted to name her baby after him. The cousin's siblings took offense to it since he was their brother and they thought they should be the ones able to honor him.
I think Lilu Marie is pretty.
My FN LN doesn't fit on credit cards so to me, that is a long name, LOL.
