Just curious...do you start tummy time based on LO's actual or adjusted date? DD is one month (but not quite "40 weeks") and I'm not sure if we should start doing this yet or wait.
Thanks!!

We started right after we came home from the hospital - 36.5 weeks gestational age.
This - same here. They were already doing tummy time since birth in the NICU. Granted they didn't do anything but sleep, but I think it's great for a different position and to get used to the feeling.
Thanks ladies. We kinda do a tummy time when she's awake and laying on my chest...she has amazing head strength! We'll probably start real tummy time this week.

Right away. LO had tummy time at the NICU and we continued it once he came home. Although we do a lot of modified tummy time with him on my chest because he tolerates it much longer and still gets the benefits. Preemies are much more likely to get torticolis (tight neck muscles with rotation) or flat head due to positioning so it's important to change their positions frequently when awake and supervised. Keep laying on their back or in positioning devices like car-seats, swings, and bouncy seats to a minimum (except of course back to sleep always).
