Ok, I realize how sad a post this is but i need some input. Family is asking what i want for christmas and it's the first year that i have NO IDEA. All i do is take care of the baby and what i enjoy most is going out on a walk with her (we walk twice a day, rain or shine). What are some things that you want for christmas (that cost <$50)? TIA!
Re: My life is somewhat sad ;-)
I quilt so I'm asking for some supplies but that doesn't help you!
For about $50, I'd ask for some Philosophy products. I've also put in a request to Santa for my Fekkai glossing cream.
I'm in a gift rut and haven't been able to offer any good guidance to those who have asked.
Sadly, this is me like every year. I just can't think of gifts for myself that I really want that I want someone to spend money on.
Usually my standby requests are gift cards to restaurants so DH and I can have a meal out that doesn't cost us anything. Or gift cards to places (like ATL) where I usually always can find clothes that I like and want but the freedom to purchase whenever I want.
Luckily, my family has learned if they don't go the gift card route they're going to be SOL, but I know some people tend to be opposed to giving gift cards.
We do Amazon wishlists that I add to throughout the year. That way if I randomly think of something like, I could use a new umbrella! I throw it on the list. I forget about it and yeah!, it shows up under the tree a few months later. This has been handy as a gift giver as well. My BIL got a promotion and I wanted to send something small, so I picked out a small item on his Amazon wish list and sent it. Perfect!
This year I put many *sale* items from JCrew on my list (all under $40.) It is my motivation to get myself back in shape post baby!

I keep an Excel spreadsheet throughout the year with gift ideas for everyone in our family. So when a birthday or holiday rolls around and someone asks for suggestions, I can easily provide some (unfortunately, only my mom and I regularly use it...everyone else goes rogue and "creative"). Some stuff I currently have on there: paraffin hand/foot kit, eye mask that can be heated or chilled, a donut pan, a bathrobe, a waffle iron, really warm mittens, a French press coffee maker, an organizer for our van, jewelry I've picked off Etsy, and giftcards (Sephora, DSW, and other places I can only shop for me at...otherwise I'll inevitably spend them on the kids or house).
I do use the amazon wishlist but haven't really added anything to it in ages. You guys have some good suggestions and i think i need to add more things from Etsy, since i'm always oohing and ahhing over something over there ;-) Gift cards are a great idea, especially somewhere where i won't spend it on baby :-)
Thanks again - it's really amazing how much a child changes your outlook. Suddenly, i keep telling DH, 'Meh, just tell them to get something for Penelope. I have everything i want' ;-)
There's a new wishlist widget that lets you add anything from any website to your Amazon wishlist. I think that's pretty handy.
I have the opposite problem in that I want a lot of stuff but it's all really freakin' expensive (new camera lens, laptop, etc.). My go-to request is giftcard for someplace like Gap or J.Crew or Loft.
