My first month of pregnancy before I found out I was pregnant:
-ran a triathalon, lost 15 pounds, drank like a fish (on vacation in Hawaii), got x-rays, participated in Mixed Martial Arts, & went hiking during a flash flood.
I had to laugh when I found out I was pregnant because it was too ridiculous to contemplate all the "no-no's" I had committed. For all the tongue-cluckers out there, everything is fine now. I'm 9 weeks along and all U/S's have been good so far.
Needless to say, the drinking and the martial arts have stopped, and I won't be competing in my next triathalon for a looong time! :O)
What's the silliest/bone-headiest thing you did before you were aware you were pregnant?
Re: Terrible Things I Did Before I Knew I Was Pregnant...
ha! with my first, I went went on a bender catching up with old friends in my hometown - it was a weekend of booze. Found out the Monday after...whoops. all was well of course.
This time, I was on business travel and had a long layover in Dubai - I went sandboarding (and bit it multiple times), crazy off-roading in the sand dunes, where I seriously thought we were going to roll the SVU over and then went ski'ing. What's funny is the driver of for the dune bashing asked several times if anyone was pregnant and it didn't even cross my mind, sure we had been trying for several months, but there was no way I was pregnant in my mind. Um, 36 hours or so later apparently I was.
I found out in week 6... I usually had a drink or two on weeknights with H. I was trying to think about how much I had been drinking when the positive appeared on the stick. I don't think it was too much, but geesh. I don't think I did much else. I did just read that you should not go in the hot tub and I was using our hot tub like twice a week in the last month. Oops
Nothing really. I was just so busy with work that the only thing I did was drink 2 glasses of wine 5 days after we actually conceived (but before I knew I was pregnant). Technically I was 3 weeks along but the baby isn't even attached at that point so NBD.
Don't worry, it happens to lots of people! I normally would have had several drinks more but I was swamped at work so just no time.

My first pregnancy I had an emergency appendectomy (with the xrays, and abdominal CTs that go along with it). Puking, anesthesia, and tons and tons and tons of pain meds. Unfortunately that pregnancy ended in a miscarriage 7 weeks later.
This pregnancy I was determined to do everything right, and hopefully not have any organs rebel against me. *knock on wood*. Thus far, so far so good.
