Millions of Americans will be stunned to know that movie about that Ralphie kid makes me feel weird and instantly lose holiday cheer. Especially when DH and his family never turn the channel when it is on TBS for a 24 hour marathon. It was not a part of my holiday culture growing up however Charlie Brown Christmas is awesome.
Seeing bratty kids open presents and not be satisfied because it wasn't big/expensive/cool enough. That really grates on my nerves.
Also, when other people are rude. This can be anywhere- in a store, parking lot, on the road (hello people that don't feel like waiting in the line of cars waiting to exit, so you go up the shoulder and cut over), etc.
I hope this doesn't elicit a huge backlash, but one thing that bugs me is people arguing over whether stores should say "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Holidays." I don't particularly care what a store says, I don't think that it makes your chosen holiday any less valuable. This year in particular, a jewlery store in my area made a commercial that said , "Merry Christmas from XYZ Jewelers. Yes, we say, 'Merry Christmas' because we're Christians..." Really - Was it necessary?
When people are too worried about being politically correct. Say "Merry Christmas" if you want to. Say "Happy Kwanza" if you want to. Don't worry about saying "Happy Holidays" unless that's really what you want to say.

people are so rude at the stores or like PP said in parking lots driving on the roads everywhere. I hate shopping normally but this time of year with long lines of irritated people. Every year from black Friday until the new year I avoid going to the stores. I order most presents on line, I don't even go grocery shopping if I don't absolutely have to.
When people get offended by Christmas music. If people want to make such a big deal about being subjected to Christmas music, then I'll make a big deal about the subject matter of most of today's music. I feel like there are very few popular songs nowadays that I can possibly allow my child to listen to because the subject matter is innapropriate.
As one PP said, it really irks me when a kid opens a present and gets mad or throws a fit because its not what they wanted. I'm sorry, but if my child ever does that, I will take her gift away and she won't get anymore until she learns to appreciate what she is given. Some people just can't afford to always get what the kid wants.
I was watching America's Funniest Videos and some kid called his grandpa cheap because he only got like 20 dollars I think. Everyone laughed (in the video and audience). If that were me, my @ss would've been smacked and I would've had to give the money back.
ETA: His grandpa was standing right there. Like he had just handed him the card and money when he said this.

I hear ya. My SIL who is 30 is still that way, every year LMAO

I completely forgot about the bratty kids... I try to block them out as much as possible especially my SIL's kids!
People being rude. I had a guy yesterday beep at me and then flip me off in the parking lot because I was moving too slow for him. Then he tried to cut me in line at the post office. Made me feel very un-holiday like.
MH! He is grouchy about everything Christmas with the exception of our tree. He hates Christmas music, all my decor that comes out and don't even let him get started on hanging our outside decorations (which he should be thankful are NOT happening this year!)

Is your husband from Cleveland by any chance? We Northestern Ohioans are a little obsessed with that movie.
60 degree weather in New England in December. It is just wrong. How can I get in the mood when it is too warm to drink cocoa, go skating or bundle up in a cozy scarf?
On the other hand, due to my Flintstone feet (thanks to whomever introduced that term) I am thrilled to be able to wear flipflops.

My almost 32 yo sister is just as bad! My mom buys stuff throughout the year that she sees and thinks we would like, but if it's not specifically something my sister asked for, she makes it known. It's the one thing DH and I complain about as soon as we get in the car to leave my parents' house!
Holiday-induced nasty attitudes. From shoppers, from bratty kids, anyone. It's one thing if you don't celebrate Christmas and you're just a jerk off all of the time, but people who actually become WORSE people in a consumer driven holiday frenzy - I just want to stomp them. Like pepper spray at walmart lady. I think she may have actually ruined Christmas for me this year. Or maybe she's just a beeyatch all the time, who knows.

My DH also hates the decoration but he will put up lights because his nephews like to drive by our house and see them BUT this year there are no lights or decorations. The thing that cracks me up the most about the light at our house is that he uses as few clips as possible and fastens them to the side of the house with tan duck tape that matches our exterior paint. It makes me laugh every time I think about it!
