How many of you had dreams about having multiples prior to finding out?

I know it sounds hokey, but I totally did. We didn't find out until my 20 week ultrasound and I had about a dozen dreams about having twins during my first tri. I told my husband and a few close friends and we just laughed about it. It was strange though, because the thought never crossed my mind when I was pregnant with my son.

I believe that it was God's way of preparing me, a tiny bit, for this huge surprise.

I had a dream I had twin girls and there name and everything before I even knew I was pregnant! Then when we find out it was twins at 9 wks I wasn't horribly schocked but it was weird our girls names we have picked out are the names in my dream! We won't find out the sex of the babes until they are here though! I don't think it's two girls though! I think it one of each or two boys!

Yes, it was the only baby/pregnancy dream I had before I knew it was twins.  I think it was because my mom put the idea in my head by jokingly say "maybe it's twins?" because I was getting big so fast.  That's crazy you didnt find out until 20 weeks!  I would have seriously thought something was going on way before then because I gained weight like crazy and showed so early.

This may sound TOTALLY crazy, and I apologize in advance...but as soon as I found out I was pregnant - before we knew it was twins - I had a dream I was sitting on toilet (I told you it was a crazy!), but anywho, I was sitting there and a snake was coming toward me and just as it got to me, it split into two snakes, a PINK snake and a BLUE snake!  Come to find out later, snakes in dreams are supposedly tied to fertility.  Then the night before my first u/s, I had a dream that I was picking up the pictures at the photographer - a boys set and a girls set.  And FINALLY, the Sunday before the U/S, at church the priest was putting out the smoke stuff (I don't know what it's called), but I promise I saw two puffs go up - one pink and one blue!  So it was a big joke at work that day that I was having twins and my coworker was going to take one...only to find out later that day that I was actually having twins - and later find out that it was b/g!

Weirdly, I've only dreamed about having one baby. In one dream, it was a girl, and she even had a name, Hailey Jane (not even names on my "list"), and in another I had a son.

my mother in law, my sister in law, and i have had dream after dream of me having identical boys. well, i recently had a dream about a boy and a girl! i guess we'll see if im carrying twins at my u/s the 22nd

I didn't have any twin dreams but I seemed to notice and talk about twins more all of a sudden, all before we knew we were having twins.  One day at work, I was talking to a pregnant co-worker and somehow we got on the subject of twins.  She was a FTM so she was saying how being pregnant with twins was a scary thought and I disagreed, I thought  caring for twins would be even scarier.  Then I told a friend of mine about the conversation, saying how my co-worker had no idea what she was talking about and my friend just randomly said "Wouldn't you DIE if you found out you were having twins?"  I knew I was pregnant at the time but not that I was having two.  Then the night before our ultrasound, I was flipping through the channels after DD1 went to bed and I found myself watching Teen Mom with the girl who had twin baby girls.  I told DH I felt so sorry for her.  That was mostly because she was so young but still.

No twin dreams here. But I kept reading the multiples part of the regular What to Expect book. I don't know why, I just kept coming back to it.

I think I had a dream about it, but I can't remember. What sticks out most for me is that I kept joking with DH about having twins before our first u/s. I was suuuuuper hungry this time around (totally opposite from #1) and every time I would eat something I'd say that I was eating for 4 (because I was still nursing #1 too). And then I have a friend who is also pregnant and she really wanted twins... the night before my u/s we were talking about it and I said something to the effect of "don't even joke about that!" and lo and behold... be careful what you wish for.

Nope.

I had one last year when the girls were about 6 months old. I'm currently not KU, so it definitely wasn't a sign. In fact, I'd probably categorize it as a nightmare.

Tiffany, the snake dream is  freaky and kind of cool. I never knew the genders in my  dreams. I would deliver and hear the doctor say, "Congratulations, it's  twins!" Then I would wake up petrified.

About a week after my BFP I had a dream that I went in for an u/s and when the tech put the wand in I saw two sacs pop up and I asked "omg did I just see two?"  And she was like yup....  Well I am so glad I told my DH about the dream because a week later I went for an u/s and it came true... everything happened just like the dream.  I remember before the u/s thinking, omg I can't have twins, and then also thinking how I'd be sad if there was just one since that dream made such an impression!!  It was so surreal how my dream came true!

Every time I have twin dreams, they're my twin nephews.  But OUR kids.  And I always say "it's so funny how much they look like N and A" and people tell me I'm crazy --- even though it's THEM.

 

No prophetic dreams.  So far I've been wrong about everything -- I thought it was a single baby, and then I thought they were girls.

When I was in college, I had a dream that DH and I had twin boys... of course in my dream the babies later turned into fish and I had to take care of them in a fish tank... haha. I also had a dream early in my pregnancy that I had a c/s and had two boys (We didn't think we would have two boys because we had PGD done on our other 3 embies and they were BBG so it was statistically improbable that I was pg with 2 boys).

I had a dream that I had my first u/s and it was twins.  The strange thing is, the twins were both girls, both smiling in the u/s and they were HUGE for being only 6w gestation.  They talked too and told me their names-Margaret Mary (Molly) and Eleanor Kate (Ellie).  I was sure I was having two girls.  Nope.  But I was having twins, which I found out about a week later.

When I was pg with DD2 I had a ton of dreams about having twin boys.  Before I got pg this time around, the dreams started up again.  Then I found out we were expecting twins, and later, boys. 

I also believe that this was God's way of preparing me.

I kept joking with my husband about having multiples (and hadn't at all with our previous pregnancies/losses).  It just felt a lot more likely and a big surprise, but not really one when the RE found the second baby.  I also had a very vivid dream about b/g twins, but that's still pending to see if I'm just making that one up.

Same here. But after we found out I had a dream that Kevin Bacon was the father instead of DH. That was weird.

I had quite a few after my BFP, always with boy/girl twins. DD also told me she wanted a brother and sister and I told her to talk to her dad, (he only wanted one more kid-but don't get me wrong he's happy about twins). She said, "nah, I'll just ask God."

When we had my first u/s at 5 weeks there was one sac and I was surprised. The next week there was two and I thought, there you are! 

We'll find out if I have the sexes right on the 22nd!

     When I was only 3 weeks pregnant (so before I had even tested positive on a HPT), I had a dream that we were sending out our birth announcements and they said "We hit the TRIFECTA" with three babies on it. When I tested positive and then the betas came back as positive I kept saying babies. My husband thought I was crazy and told me to stop calling it babies, because there was only one in there.

    Well, lo and behold, we are in fact having triplets! I thank god that I had that dream, because otherwise I think I would have been completely freaked out by the idea of having triplets. For some strage reason, that dream gives me peace of mind and makes me think that it was just meant to be.

I dreamt it and I had a conversation with them but could remember nothing about what was said except for the fact that there were two of them. I kept telling my husband that I was having twins.

He was so blown away and a little freaked out at the first u/s that I was right. I got the genders wrong though so he felt better about that.

I have been having pg and baby dreams for several years now, and almost every time it has been twins.  I didn't have any twin dreams once i found out I was preg, but I knew it was twins by a week later.  Since then I have had dreams about triplets... about adopting twins AND being preg with twins... yeah, crazy stuff!  The weird thing is though all the dreams are identical twins though I have had dreams about girls and boys.  But we are pretty sure these are not identical.
