Does anyone own a Kindle touch?

My sister and I are thinking about getting one of these for my mom for Christmas.  She doesn't currently own a computer and isn't one to use one anyway, but we would like for her to access email from time to time.  Do you know if you can do that with this Kindle?  I know that some Kindles can, but wanted to make sure that you can with this one in particular.  TIA!

not familiar with Kindle touch?  But, you can get your email and go online (wi-fi only though) with a Kindle Fire.
