STBXH had his 2nd court appearance today. They offered him a plea deal which he took. 6 whole months of which he will only do 4.

For two felonies, of which he beat me up and threatened to kill me and his son. He also violated his no contact order around 10 times which I proved. He also has two prior violent felony offenses plus countless other crimes.

4 months for beating on me and threatening to kill both me and our child.....I am completely astounded.

My domestic abuse advocate told me every time he gets an abuse charge his sentence will go up little by little. After 4 he will begin doing prison time. Awesome, so he basically has to kill me before he goes to prison?

WTF.

Oh, and I just found out that they made an agreement with him. He plead guilty to terroristic threats and they dropped the domestic abuse charge.

My statement, pictures, evidence. My own life didn't mean shiit to them.

Sadly, this doesn't surprise me.  Really.  Our judicial system is horrible.  (not that I agree) but a drug dealer will go to jail for years yet violent offenders and child molesters get a slap on the wrist and the opportunity to repeat offenses.

this is how things are going with my ex.  just now he is going to be seeing some jail time.  

 

PM me if you ever want to talk.  there are a ton of things you can do on your side to help yourself feel safer and become stronger so that when he gets out, you are more prepared to deal with him if he gets violent again.
