I would like to have a pack and play type thing next to where I sleep and use that for LO until night nursing slows down from what I expect will be a lot of PM BFing. I like the Arm's Reach cosleepers, but they are expensive and I would have to drive about 60 miles to a store that sells them (for some reason the BBB's in my area don't stock them, but the ones outside my metropolitan area do...grr...and no BRU in my area have them). I am having trouble finding out the materials used for the popular brands like Graco and Safety 1st, but I have a feeling based on the two or three I saw in person that they are some plastic-type material with a polyurethane foam pad inside, which is not EF and probably not good for LO, either.
Where did/do your LO's sleep? Are there any common brands that are, if not EF, at least a little better?
Re: What did/does your infant sleep in at night?
We used a secondhand pack and play (for a while with the upper level in, before DD could roll) in our bedroom most of the first year. It seemed to mostly be made of cloth and metal...and the floor was a press-wood type board (or paper?) with a cloth over it. I added a softer blanket under the cloth for a little bit of give.
Worked great!
S slept in our bed.
L had an Arm's Reach, but she slept in our bed more often than not, so we got rid of it ... and now she sleeps in our bed.
