Hey all you Momma's of 2 month olds (or just about)!

How crazy is it that we're already in the midst of taking baby to their 2 month appts???

How are you doing this week?  Finally responding to one of these posts, it's been so long!  i just can't get on here much anymore w/ the two kiddies and going back to work.

Any milestones?  Ellie has graduated to mostly all formula after a long search to find one that agreed w/ her.  I bf her for the first 6wks or so then tried finding a formula that would help her spit up, gas, excessive pooping and diaper rash.  we ended up w/ similac sensitive. 

she also smiles alot and cooes.  I swear she tries to hit the mobile on the PNP when she's in the changing table part of it b/c she can reach the little bears or it could be wishful thinking on my part but i swear she put two and two together and does it on purpose.

Appts?  Next wed is ellie's 2mo appt.

How goes the sleep battle? (Seems like a lot of us are posting about it, so figured I'd make it its own question)  One thing about Ellie is that she practically STTN, i know hate me, but she keeps me so busy during the day and only takes little 30min cat naps.

How goes the holiday planning?  I'm pretty much all done holiday shopping and decorating!  Only a few little things left to buy and we still need to get our xmas tree and decorate it.

Hi Ladies. I always lurk on these posts, but considered myself a November Mama (EDD11-4-11) so I never posted. But DD came early on 10-15-11 so I guess I really am an October Mama. Mind if I join you?

How are you doing this week?

Things are going well. DD really is a great baby. Yesterday we had our first shopping trip justthe 2 of us and she slept the whole time! I stopped at my ILs between stores of a diaper change/feeding and she peed all over me (first time)! Needless to say we didn't make it to any more stores, but so glad she did this at thier house and not while I was out!

Any milestones?

She rolled over from belly to back the other day (7+w), but I am thinking it was a fluke because she hasn't done it again. I am trying to catch it on video!

Appts?

We have her 2 month appt. 12/19. I am excited to see how she weighs in, but terrified for the shots!

Like I said, shes a great baby and has given us long stretches at night since about 4 weeks (4-5hrs). They started to gradulally get longer and has gone 8 hrs a couple times! But the past few nights shes back at 3 hours.I know it's normal and I shouldn't complain (so I'll try not to) but I hope she gets back up to at least 6 hours consistently before I go back to work in January. Not sure I can handle 23 kdgrs on 3 or so hours of sleep each night!

I am no good at Christmas shopping, I procrastinate way too long. Every year I vow to be better and it never happens. (In my defense I was on bedrest starting in Sept and DD came October ). I always think if I start too early I'll forgot what I bought. Needless to say I have one person complete (my 18mo niece - shopping for girl clothes is easy!). Hope the rest of you are better at planning than me!

Appts? She had her shots on Tuesday

How goes the sleep battle? (Seems like a lot of us are posting about it, so figured I'd make it its own question) It was really bad from 7 weeks on. It was a little better yesterday. Hoping 9 weeks is the big turn around. She gave me two 3-hr stretches last night!

Two month shots: If you've done them, how'd they go?  If not, when are they scheduled? Shots were not as bad as I was anticipating. She was a little fussier than normal, but she was obviously feeling icky. Slightly elevated temp that night, so I gave her some medication. Just her happy self the next morning.

How goes the holiday planning? Non-existent, and I'm just fine with that.

How are you doing this week?  Doing good. DS is really playfull these days so I am enjoying that. I am kinda frustrated about him all of a sudden refusing to take a bottle. Since he will go to daycare, I have to get him used to one.

Two month shots: If you've done them, how'd they go?  If not, when are they scheduled?  Thank God, they are over.  Rough on me more than DS, he was a champ. He was a little fussy, but didn't need any meds.

How goes the holiday planning?  I purchased everything online.  Gifts are here, now need to wrap everything.

Hello, Ladies.  I am going to try and look on the bright side this week, as I feel like my post on the check-in is always the most Debbie Downer-ish thing.  All true, granted, but I am sure it is no fun to read.

How are you doing this week?

We are hanging in there.  DS is starting to smile more and look in my direction when doing so sometimes, rather than just at the ceiling fan.  The reflux and colic are still kicking our asses, but we are hopeful it will improve in the next 4 weeks.  I am starting to get nervous about finding child care for G when I go back to work.  

Any milestones?

8 weeks last Friday!  Still waiting for anything else of note.

What is this sleep you speak of?  Kidding.  We are about the same as last week.  Which means not great.

Two month shots: If you've done them, how'd they go?  If not, when are they scheduled? 

Scheduled for next Thursday.  I have Acetaminophen at the ready...although I may need the meds more than G.  He's pretty cranky to start off, so his reaction to the shots should be interesting!

How goes the holiday planning?

Holiday what?  Seriously, I am the biggest Scrooge this year.  DH put up our tree but I am so not feeling it.  No shopping has been done and I literally think everyone is going to get Target gift cards this year as that is about all I can contemplate buying.  Creativity is at zero to minus one.

How are you doing this week? This week has been full of ups and downs.  Either he's sleeping great or like crap...which then dictates how my days go.  Today is a great day (Thank you dear baby Jesus)

Any milestones? He had his first two STTN's this past week (which I then subsequently paid for 10-fold).  He's also about to cross the 'doubling his birth weight' threshold  (birth=6lb 2oz, yesterday at home=12lb)

Appts? Trying to get an appt for his reflux to get checked out still.  Next scheduled one isn't until late Jan for his 4 monther.

How goes the sleep battle? (Seems like a lot of us are posting about it, so figured I'd make it its own question) Roller coaster over here.  This week has consisted of 2 STTN's, 1 6-hour slumber...and the rest have been hellish nights where I'm either up with him screaming at all hours or sleeping in the glider with him. Naps are feast or famine as well.  On the days following his longer sleep nights he'll do fantastic for naps.  On the other days I'm lucky if I get 20 mins per nap and I spend most of my day trying to get him to sleep.

Two month shots: If you've done them, how'd they go? If not, when are they scheduled? We did them on the 30th.  Overall they went well.  The screams really sucked to hear (especially the one for the tetanus shot, consider yourselves warned), but he was quickly soothed by the boob.  He was irritable/whiny for a couple days after.  Pain meds helped, but didn't make it all better.  I'm really glad they are over with.

How goes the holiday planning? Work in progress.  Our Xmas cards showed up the other day, so I'm working on getting those addressed.  Shopping wise I have my brothers and our grandparents to shop for, the rest are done.  DH and I aren't doing anything this year (calling our expenses for a trip back home our gift to one another) and DS is just getting small stuff from us unless my MIL flakes on her promise to get his convertible carseat.  Figuring no need to go big this year since money is tight and he's oblivious to it.

How are you doing this week? It's been up and down as always, last night she was screaming for hours, but today has been okay, we went to yoga again and she wasn't that fussy, I only had to feed her twice in the hour and a half long class

Any milestones? 8 weeks this Saturday! Can't believe how fast it's gone!

Appts? Not until the 21st for her 2 month check up.

How goes the sleep battle? (Seems like a lot of us are posting about it, so figured I'd make it its own question) Sleep has never been a huge problem. She wakes to eat and sometimes fusses and grunts and groans but she rarely cries all night. She has, unfortunately, decided she must sleep in bed with me, I keep trying the crib but I'm too tired to force it so for now she and I share the twin bed I have in her room. I'll keep working on transitioning to her crib as she gets older.

Two month shots: If you've done them, how'd they go?  If not, when are they scheduled? We aren't vaccinating her at all, and that's all I should say on that subject.

How goes the holiday planning? Almost done with all the shopping. I gave up on putting up decorations, I just know I won't be able to finish, nor have time to put it all away later.

If you don't mind my asking, what is your line of reasoning?  I'm curious bc I wasn't vax'd as a child for religious reasons.  As an adult I've gotten my shots all caught up and we are vax'ing D, but I definitely understand opting out more than most having been part of a family that made that choice.  Not trying to start a debate, and I totally understand if you prefer not to answer, just curious.

And you're totally right, I definitely dropped the ball in asking for pics

If you don't mind my asking, what is your line of reasoning?  I'm curious bc I wasn't vax'd as a child for religious reasons.  As an adult I've gotten my shots all caught up and we are vax'ing D, but I definitely understand opting out more than most having been part of a family that made that choice.  Not trying to start a debate, and I totally understand if you prefer not to answer, just curious.

It's not for religious reasons, we have done a lot of research and discussed it with our pedi and decided against vaccines.
